Money for Shopkeepers

Why is the council giving money for shopkeepers safety? While I am sorry for the late Mr Singh and his family surely it is not the councils reponsibility to give our money to private businesses? First we had the taxi drivers being given money for CCTVs and now Shopkeepers!! What next, do we give money to Pubs for CCTV? Can I have some to protect my house? I agree that higher sentences should be given to those responsible for attacks on shopkeepers but not only shopkeepers, higher sentences for all attacks should be the norm. The police should respond quickly to all crime not just against shopkeepers and when/if caught the judicial system should ensure suitable sentences.

Agree with you Mr Angry. Once again Cllr BOOBY has jumped on the bandwagon of an ill conceived proposal.

£100,000 for what exactly ?

Does this chap never tire of photo opportunities.

Oh Pleeeease!!!! Lets keep Bernie out of this again.

The problem is Bailey he (MK) would be better doing nothing as he seems to do all the wrong things. As you say he has helped you numerous times and so he should as your local councillor but as leader of the council he has done nothing to help our town, a town which is dying on its feet.

My reply disappeared so i will try again??

I was waiting for you to ask Bailey!!

1. Telephone Calls to !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You may say this was cleared but not IMO.
2. Pushing the stupid bus lane without consultation
3. Allowing the Castle Hill fiasco to go on for so long
4. Allowing CCTVs to be given to private business
5. Allegations that there was a Black Hole in council finances
etc
You may say that the Telephone Call investigation was cleared but not in my eyes or many others
You may say decisions are made collectively by the council but Mr K is alleged to manipulate and bully decisions.
The main point is that as leader there seems to be no direction of leadership much to the detriment of our Town. Unfortunately the leadership encompasses the mythical kingdom of Kirklees of which I couldnt care less.

. Telephone Calls to !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You may say this was cleared but not IMO
Well he stood for election after this came to light and had the biggest majority of any councillor in Kirklees, therefore the electorate cleared him and we do live in a democracy MRAngry.
. Pushing the stupid bus lane without consultation

Who says it was without consultation?
3. Allowing the Castle Hill fiasco to go on for so long

This was started by the Tories,at least now because of the hard stance taken by Cllr Khan, this is coming to a conclusion with a planning application being submitted, for the first time ever after Tory mismanagment.
4. Allowing CCTVs to be given to private business

Started by the Tories before Cllr Khan became leader. Tory party manifesto states that all data held by public bodies to be given free of charge to any private sector company. This issue is about data protection.
5. Allegations that there was a Black Hole in council finances

Yes £22m black hole was filled by Labour and Liberal Democrats. Unfortunately some services had to be cut to deal with Tory negligence including closure of New Mill Library.
You may say decisions are made collectively by the council but Mr K is alleged to manipulate and bully decisions.

Provide us with evidence of such instances.
The main point is that as leader there seems to be no direction of leadership much to the detriment of our Town.

You can't accuse him on the one hand of being a forceful leader, then say he flip flops like Cameron.

3. Allowing the Castle Hill fiasco to go on for so long

This was started by the Tories,at least now because of the hard stance taken by Cllr Khan, this is coming to a conclusion with a planning application being submitted, for the first time ever after Tory mismanagment.Started by who doesnt matter as he took over as leader and the saga has been allowed to run and run. Hard stance you are joking!!
4. Allowing CCTVs to be given to private business

Started by the Tories before Cllr Khan became leader. Tory party manifesto states that all data held by public bodies to be given free of charge to any private sector company. This issue is about data protection.Once again who cares who started anything. What has data to do with anything the issue is why are taxi drivers being given equipment from public money this is not data protection?
5. Allegations that there was a Black Hole in council finances

Yes £22m black hole was filled by Labour and Liberal Democrats. Unfortunately some services had to be cut to deal with Tory negligence including closure of New Mill Library. After Mr Khan had claimed the Tories had left a Black Hole of £44m It was later admitted there was NO Black Hole.
You may say decisions are made collectively by the council but Mr K is alleged to manipulate and bully decisions.

Provide us with evidence of such instances. " Alleged"

I said manipulative NOT forceful however forceful doesnt mean he is a leader with any direction.I am not interested in Cameron.

As you are such a staunch supporter of our "leader" perhaps you can let us know some good things he has done for our town?

Go to www.mehboobhan.net and read what he has done.
By the way the LibDems created the warm zone, the tories tried to remove the funding for it,LibDem/Labour Alliance removed the tories to fill the £22m black hole and save Warmzone from collapse.

Why not, farmers, fishermen and other industries get subsidies, why not shopkeepers and taxi drivers to keep them safe.
