Barry Sheerman not in the real world?

Postby Dismayed_of_Dalton » "Mon Mar 01, 2010 8:46 pm"

Sounds about right from our member of parliament, whilst all around the country people are being made redundant, experiencing pay freezes and suffering financial woes caused by the bankers, and bailed out by the tax payers,

At least 25,000 council jobs in England will be under threat in the next three to five years, a BBC survey suggests.

£850bn: official cost of the bank bailout

Huddersfields' MP Barry Sheerman says he needs another permit in order to do his job more efficiently.

So while we the tax payers have our pay frozen, jobs cut, fund the bank bailout and have a council tax rise of 2% Barry Sheermen thinks he should have another free parking permit, how about using public transport like your constituents have to Barry :?:

He's standing again so the voters in his constituency know what to do. Make him redundant.

I'm sure that he'll blame everyone but himself if by chance it should happen. :(

It won't happen by chance!
But if enough people are prepared to vote for an independent candidate, he might just get a 'bloodied nose'! The saying used to be, 'don't get mad - GET EVEN!' give all the sly beggars their come-uppance at the election. Let them know that we haven't forgotten their 'sticky fingers' and their smarmy denials and attempted cover-ups!
Many of them simply daren't face the electorate again, and are taking the dosh and scooting. So why should we vote in the 'patsies' their parties put up in their places?
[Oooohh I get sooo cwosss!] :?

Perhaps the solution is to keep him to one car parking permit, but allow him to switch it between cars, providing of course he is using and is present in both cars at the same time. :D

Then we have good old Mountfield making a grand gesture by stating she will not be asking for a second permit, of course not, she's standing down. Remember to surrender your old permit when you leave Kali!

I see from todays Examiner that Mr Gibson states Sheerman now lives within the boundaries of his constituency.

I personally couldn't care less where he lives as long as I don't have to listen to his waffle.

Quite simply, this is beyond parody. I feel utterly redundant.

I'll be taking a leaf out of IdleJohn's book and not be letting mere facts get in the way of a good rant. ;o)

The electorate looked from Tory to Labour, and from Labour to Tory, and from Tory to Labour again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

What is it about politicians from the Labour party who seem to have forgotten their roots and try to bleed the country for every penny they can? Mehboob Khan is another one who sits on so many bodies and claims so much expenses from the taxpayer. I reckon 100,000 a year. Not bad for a clapped out politico. Move over Barry, the next gravy train is on its way. Where does Barry live by the way? Where does he pull in his 2nd home allowace? Surely not on his flat in Almondbury where he is never seen?
Keep paying your tax everyone, don't want to see Barry and Mehboob miss out on the freebies!

Examiner online today:-
HUDDERSFIELD’S MP has accused Tesco of being “terribly dodgy”.
Barry Sheerman criticised the retailer after receiving a letter outlining the benefits of a new supermarket in Huddersfield – and offering to fund a charity which he set up.
The Labour MP said: “I think it’s terribly dodgy to send a letter like this.”

I would like to see the letter of his to Tesco, which elicited this apoplectic response. Did he perhaps also refer to both subjects in it?
I always look for the catch, the 'weasel words' when any politicians climbs onto a 'high-horse'! [I'm just terribly cynical I know....] :?
